Register today for the National Black Heritage Championship Swim Meet
The National Black Heritage Championship Swim Meet in North Carolina is the Black swim community’s family reunion!
The meet, founded and hosted by the North Carolina Aquablazers Swim Team, celebrates the success of African American swimmers and encourages the development of tomorrow’s elite Black swimmers. The National Black Heritage Championship Swim Meet is held in Cary North Carolina every year in May during Memorial Day weekend.
If your swimmer has never experienced a diversity swim meet please make sure they attend this event. Participating in an exciting and competitive meet full of swimmers of color is a rare opportunity and can inspire your swimmer to continue in the sport.
During the meet, swimmers have the opportunity to meet elite Black swimmers and Olympic medalists like Cullen Jones and Maritza Correia. They will also compete against some of the fastest young swimmers in the country.
Many parents write to Black Kids Swim to say their child is the ‘only one’ of color on their swim team. Unfortunately, this is common for many Black swimmers. USA Swimming has more than 337,000 members, of which less than 1.3 percent are Black. This swim meet offers a different experience.
Register your team (or your child as an individual participant) for this meet and join swimmers from across the country in a weekend of family fun and fast swimming.
We look forward to seeing you this May at the 15th annual National Black Heritage Championship Swim Meet!!
